Artist description
Carvel Avis has long been a studio guitarist and as such has learned to play all styles of music. He is most at home with Acoustic Jazz. He was influenced by groups like Crosby, Stills Nash & Young as well as James Taylor. He also had all the Beatles stuff in the 70's as well as Led Zepplin, etc. In the mid-70's he was exposed to Chic Corea's "Return To Forever" recordings with Al Dimeola playing acoustic guitar. From that time on he was interested in learning to play jazz. His early acoustic influences and later jazz studies (he has a degree in Music Theory & Composition)led him to a very unique blend of the two. |
