Tuti began to play professionally when he was 13 y.o., as a piano player.
When he finished his EE BS he began a BS in Music together with a EE MS in
ComputerMusic. For two years he was a visiting scholar researcher at the CCRMA
(Centerfor Computer Research in Music and Acoustics) of Stanford University
while heplayed at the Stanford Jazz Ensemble as a jazz pianist.
He also performed throughoutthe Bay Area in night clubs and restaurants.
Recently Tuti developed himself as a guitar player, the instrument that in his
opinion better resembles thestyle of the Brazilian Popular Music
(also called as MPB). Together with JohnNeves, Tuti developed an album of
standards of the MPB entitled Bossas $ Sambas. His singing unveils the
strong influent received from Joao Gilberto and thearrangements made by him
for this album were greatly focused on the musical fashion of the Brazilian 50's
and 60's.---------Joao is a master Brazilian percussionist. He teaches in the SF
Bay area. Also plays flute and soprano sax |
