Artist History
Dimitrios Plemmenos was born in Kalamata, Greece, in 1968. He studied byzantine music, classical piano, and voice at the "Dimotiko" Conservatoire of Kalamata. He received diplomas in European music, as well as in byzantine music, from the Conservatoire "Aharnwn" in Athens, Greece. In 1982, Mr. Plemmenos organised a concert of byzantine music and directed the byzantine choir of chanters in the Intellectual Centre of Kalamata. In 1986 he was first chanter at the Metropolitan Temple, Sparta, Greece; and in 1993, at the Kathedric Temple of the Birth of Christ, at Lakonia, South Greece; where he still currently directs the byzantine choir. On many occasions, he has also done work with the Children's Chorus and Orchestra of Holy Metropolis of Messinia, Greece. |
