Artist History
The Northerners emerged in the late 1990's and were conceived by guitarist, Michael Burt and keyboardist, Joe D'Antoni. Mike, Joe and lead guitarist Billy Zaccagnino were all graduates of the University of Scranton and played together while there. In the years following, Michael introduced Billy and Joe to his close friend and bassist, Doug Weinberg. Together, the four were a creative force unlike any other. The Northerners found the last piece of the puzzle almost a full two years later with Doron Lev, a Miami born drummer who responded to the band's ad in the Village Voice. The Northerners are continuing to excite audiences with their unique blend of rock, funk, jazz and R&B. They can be seen performing live throught the tri-state area.
