Artist description
Hailing collectively from Los Angeles, CA, the Ambulance is a tightly knit alternative metal band produced by System of a Down songwriter/producer/guitarist Daron Malakian. Spit flies from the speakers as the raw angst driven talent of vocalist/guitarist A.J. Lopez, inventive and inspired foundation of bassist Shahen Hagobian, and honed precision and creativity of drummer Brett McConnell fuse together to ignite a firestorm of ground-breaking music that crackles with engaging dynamics and superb musicianship.
Combining diverse musical and cultural backgrounds, the Ambulance has managed to weave together aggressive rants, bouncy rhythms, moody laments, heavy riffs, agonizing cries of torment, jazzy interludes, child-like vocals, and torturous grooves into a tight, cohesive sound. From the darkness and despair of their songs 'Casino', '#203', and 'Sewing Machine', to the social commentary of 'What U Want' and the cocksure aggression of 'Be in Love with Me', the Ambulance also display a versatile array of poetic lyrics.
This creativity and uniqueness has made the trio stand out amongst hordes of unsigned bands in Los Angeles and pumped a hefty shot of adrenaline into the Sunset Strip where the Ambulance have become headlining favorites as well as supporting contemporaries for the likes of national acts Adema and OneSideZero. With a massive global street team, web site activity rivaling major label successes, and an undeniably passionate live show, the Ambulance promise to deliver every wounded ear straight to the ER. |
