Artist description
The project started about 15 years ago, when I began to play around with my friend Shraddes on an AMIGA 2000 and a ENSONIQ ESQ1 keyboard. I was so amazed about the possibilities of computerized instruments. Friends who helped inspiered me were especially Shantiraj Luers and Shraddes Geraldy. I worked for quite some time with them, but it never became a band or live act. The music developed mainly in the studio where we spend weeks and month to get our pieces polished and refined. But sometimes they just jump out of nowwhere and in one day they are complete. |

Artist History
I was born and raised in Hann Münden, Germany, and grew up in the beautiful countryside of the Harz mountains. I started playing drums at the age of fourteen when my mum send me to play snare drum in a local brass band. That got boaring pretty soon, so one year later I quit, bought and build myself a drumkit and soon joined my first band called "Hochspannung", a romantic-fantasy-latin-rock-band. During the next 15 years I played in a wide range of different bands and stiles and developed my own stile and approach of drumming: funky, rocky, jazzy, groovy... I learned to combine ethnic drums from all over the world with high tech sampling to integrate the different sounds and stiles into a fusion of east and west, north and south. Because of my easy access to technical gear I was always intrigued by studio technology and equipment. So I got myself into sound engineering and to build my own little project recording studio. I recorded and produced several CD’s with artists like Prem Joshua, Nadama, Milarepa Thomson, Miten, The Leela Groove Project, Shunyam and others.Together with Prem Joshua and Chintan Relenberg, I am co-founder of the ethno trance project HAMSAFAR, where we create a driving fusion of danceable trance-grooves and -loops with the rich textures of ethnic instruments and beautiful haunting melodies. My own music varies from Trance to House, from Electronic to New Age, Movietracks to Chants. I love to play around with all kind of music styles and soundtextures because I always see little movies when I compose, so - have fun with this music and enjoy the journey. |
