Artist History
Open Grave formed in the year 2000 as a collaborative effort between Decephalic on guitars (Nocturnal Decay, Fall of Empyrean) and God Vomit on vocals (Oak Coffin, ex-Creeping Jesus, ex-CCCP). The desire to create true black metal, aside from all trends, is what drove God Vomit and Decephalic forward in their quest for total supremacy. The addition of a drummer, Rosemary's Afterbirth, cemented Open Grave's future as a true black metal behemoth. The guitar was recorded in the summer of 2000 but due to extenuating circumstances the rest of the recording was put on hold. Finally, in the Fall of 2000 the drum tracks were laid down and a bass player, Deadson, was found. Towards the end of Fall 2000 Deadson and Rosemary's Afterbirth entered Subterranean Studios and finished the drum/bass tracks. Finally, in late Fall / early Winter under a harvest moon, God Vomit laid down the vocal tracks for Open Grave's "The Heavens Cry Black Tears". This unholy slab of heathen black metal is the first chapter in the "Unholy Syndicate of Obscurity". We are currently looking for a label with the fucking balls to release the CD. SERIOUS inquiries would be appreciated, as we don't have the monetary funds to self-release. Hail Satan. \,,/ |
