Artist History In 1972,Capricorn Records released the debut album of CAPTAIN BEYOND which featured "Rhino" Reinhardt on guitar(IRON BUTTERFLY) Lee Dorman on Bass(IRON BUTTERFLY)Bobby Caldwell on Drums (JOHNNY WINTER) and Rod Evans of Deep Purple (HUSH) on vocals.This powerhouse quartet soon amazed the world with their incomparable musicianship and arrangements.The band went on to record their next album "SUFFICIENTLY BREATHLESS" and soon after, Caldwell left to tour and record with RICK DERRINGER.Caldwell soon rejoined the band for the second leg of the "Breathless" Tour,and the band split for a breif period.In 1977,the group members reformed the band,with new vocalist WILLIE DAFFERN and recorded "DAWN EXPLOSION" The band split again with die hard fans assuming they would never hear from CAPTAIN BEYOND again.Amazingly,some twenty plus years later,Captain Beyond has returned with Rhino and Caldwell who have recruited a stellar line up for the new Millenium.
