Artist History
Influent of the Cure ,The Smiths, The Magnetic fields... haunting, beautiful, sometimes hushed melodies backed by songs that feel as if they could crack if breathed upon... Although it may seem this is the making of a fine, english, new wave band, the sound also developed from listening to the Smoking popes, Knapsack, Superdrag. From the electronic pulse of " if i die tonight" to the pop laden guitar lines of "what it feels like to be at the end of the world," to the funeral like dirge of the "blue hour," The Grey Skies never fail to bring only the most pure emotion to the music. The music ranges from harsh dissonance to the softest most delicate pop harmonies and never fails to intrigue the listener. The Grey Skies Are Sleeping were formed in 2000 as a group of musicians became unhappy with the state of affairs in their current projects and the local music scene. The Grey Skies set out to make an album void of traditional structure and pop music ideals. Thus, the debut self titled album was born. Soon after, The Grey Skies signed with kill art records. The debut release will be availiable on January 25th in Chicago and various online stores. e-mail killxart@aol.com for more information... |
