    Artist History
Liberty DeVitto: Drums/Percussion Born in Brooklyn, New York, on August 8, 1950, son of a NYC Policeman, Liberty grew up on Long Island. In 1968, after constant practice and playing in local bands, he received a phone call from a guy that said he was Mitch Ryder's tour manager. That night and for the next six weeks he was on the road with Mitch. Right after Mitch, Liberty got his first recording experience. The album "Supa's Jamboree" was released on Paramount Records. One night after a gig, Liberty was driving and flipped the equipment van. He sustained serious injuries, which brought him a year of not playing. Upon recovery, the group Topper was formed. Topper eventually became Billy Joel's band. Twenty six years later, still playing with Billy, Liberty's new love is "The Fun(k)Club". Kyle Henderson: Vocals One may recognize Kyle's success as the bassist/vocals for the 80's power pop/rock band 'THE PRODUCERS.' spawning such hits like 'What's He Got?' Kyle has played in may rock bands in Atlanta, GA, before relocating to Orlando, FL... Joining The Fun(k) Club in the Summer of 2001, Kyle adds a great vocal texture and character to the band. Tommy Calton: Guitar Tommy Calton is as Southern as grits and barbeque. Born in Birmingham, Alabama, where he spent most of his life. Tommy played and recorded with local bands, "Hotel and Split the Dark". He moved to New Orleans in 1988, where the music and the culture changed his life. He played clubs in the City and on "Bourbon Street". But his big break came when he played with The Meter's bass player; George Porter, Jr's group the Running Partner's. That's where Tommy got a "hand's on" feel for the funk. In 1990 he moved to Orlando, Florida and played in "the Parks", but never lost his love for the funk. Tommy's dream is the "The Fun(K)Club". Larry Jacoby: Bass At first listen to "The Fun(K)Club" CD, the first questions asked is, "who's that bass player?" Born in the borough in Manhattan, New York, Larry Jacoby stuck close to his roots. Based in the entertainment center of the world, Larry did Broadway. He played in the pit band for "Oh Calcutta" and "Starlight Express", and toured with the road shows. "Hair" and "Raisin", (which featured Phebo Bryson, Philip Bailey (Earth, Wind and Fire), Howard Hewitt, and JT Taylor (Kool and the Gang). He moved to Orlando in 1989 where he played locally and picked up gigs with the Tokens, Drifters and Marveletts. Larry is the solid foundation of "The Fun(K)Club". Charlie Deshant: Saxophone Charlie was born in Longbeach, California. At the age of seven his family moved to Clearwater, Florida. Charlie studied saxophone and as a teen played with local Clearwater bands - The Catalina's and Bethlehem Asylum. It was with Bethlehem Asylum that he recorded two albums in Macon, Georgia for Ampex Records. He made a move to Miami with the band, which lasted two more years. Charlie played the Miami circuit. In 1976 his break came when he hooked up with Hall & Oats. "The Fun(K)Club" let's him express his jazz side, which has always been his true passion. Steve Walters: Trumpet Steve is the most musically educated member of "The Fun(K)Club". He was born in Ashland, Kentucky. He played in cover bands all though high school, traveled through the southeast playing "beach music", and still managed to get his Bachelors in music from the University of Kentucky. But that wasn't enough; Steve went on to get his Masters at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York. In between teaching, Steve has played with Wayne Newton and on numerous cruise ships, which eventually influenced his move to Orlando in 1984. He also played "the Parks", and had a long run touring with the "4 Tops" and "The Temptations".
