Artist description "Ribbed for Pleasure" are a new Melbourne band formed from artists from around the land of oz. An all original outfit with a sincere hard edge style and stage presence. After a improvised set at Mudfest, Mission Beach, Nth Qld, late in 1999 a natural chemistry was recognized between the vocalist(RobertStaines), bass player(Ryan Wilson) and the guitarist(James Bryce) whom had been searching for such a project. Ribbed for Pleasure was formed and went from strength to strength to become one of far north queensland’s most widely known and respected original acts. With a blend of style, force, eastern influence, odd timing, powerful grooves, forward bass, dynamic guitar and vocal, they’ll take you on a ecclectical journey through frequencies thick and thin. “Ribbed for Pleasure” supported ‘Grinspoon’ and ‘Jebediah’ on there recent far northern tours. Headlining the local band stage at 'Wicked 2001' they supported '28 Days' and 'The Cruel Sea'. At 'Wicked 2000' 'Powderfinger' and 'Killing heidi'. At 'LDO 2001' ‘Nokturnl' and 'MC Trey' with Rob Staines being invited to perform live with both. At 'LDO 2000', 'Sunk Loto' and at 'LDO 1999', 'The Testeagles'. With this under there belts "Ribbed for Pleasure" headed for the big city lights of Melbourne where they recruited a new drummer Paul "Skins" Bruno , supported'28 Days' and just cracked the local scene with shows on a regula basis. Once described as "awe inspiring, winner take all, blessing" Ribbed for Pleasure’s live show’s are something to be seen and heard……
