Artist description The Grand Rapids Poetry Slam was founded in 2000 by Greg Bliss and now encompases five programs in two locations and is a certified Poetry Slam Inc. venue. Hosted by Kevin Charles, SlamMaster. Look for the Grand Rapids Poetry Slam team at the National Poetry Slam in Seatle, WA in August, 2001.

Artist History The slam in Grand Rapids came out of an open mic hosted by Greg Bliss at Gold Coffee on Wealty St. which started in January 2000. Around mid-summer, Greg asked a few people to help out and to introduce slam into the area.
