Artist History
Started one day in high school study hall with a conversation between Andrew Hutchinson and Duane Jewell back in 1997. The two then picked up drummer John Harvey, who had no drums at the time. The three then decided that another, better musician was needed. The three decided on guitarist Brett Duffy. The band, then called "The Mosh Balls", struggled to get gigs. This continued for around a year. The pressures of a band, college, and life became too great for Duane and he left the band on good terms. Now with Andy on acoustic, Brett on electric, and John on drums, the band picked up one of the few skinny bass players in this country, Dave Nemet. Dave brought innovative elements to the band and more musical depth. The band was renamed "Bancroft" to reflect the changes. While attending college, they were busy recording a full-length CD and playing gigs. This continued on into 2001. Soon pressures got too much for John and the band parted once again with a good friend. The group aquired Mark Posler as the permanent drummer in the summer of 2001 just as the full-length CD "Anywhere but Home" was completed. They are still playing much of Ohio while writing new songs for a future release. |
