Artist History
This band was made by the internet. I've been in many bands and when my last one broke up, I kinda "hung it up" for a couple of years. The itch to play again came back about a year ago and I began feverishly hunting through musicians online classified ads. After countless nightmarish auditions I finally struck gold with Drew Mellow. We got together one time and we knew it was the right combo. Back to the seemingly endless hunt to find others to join our little fledgling project. Drew and I spent about 3 months auditioning drummers and bassists. It was hell. Just before I could lose my mind, while speaking with my old drummer who had left to play with Slow Roosevelt some time ago, he informed me that he was available. We snatched him up with the quickness of a jungle cat. Now for a bassist. Encouraged by the fact that we now had a drummer and were 75 percent complete, we forged on. I sent out a message answering yet another musicians online classified ad. Within 5 minutes I had a reply. It was Bert. We were all aprehensive at first. After all of the bad experiences we had been through we were well aware of the possibility of this being another. We met in Denton. Tensions were high. I wanted this to be the one so bad, that when we were auditioning him my hands almost shook to badly to play. After the first couple of tunes I relaxed into that old familiar feeling. This was indeed the one. Start was born |
