Artist description
Sentir was a Latin music band founded in 1988, it was formed by a group of Venezuelans residing in Houston. At first Sentir, then known as "Sentir Venezolano", was formed to promote Venezuelan folk music. However, in November of the following year, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Sentir began to change its musical genre when it experimented with Caribbean rhythms. Back in Houston, Sentir started to include new musicians to adapt to the needs of its new image. Due to the band's popularity and thanks to the executive production of Venezuelan Carl Herrera, an ex-professional basketball player in the NBA, Sentir produced its CD From Houston To The World, which includes nine songs, eight of them original compositions by Mele Avellán and Miguel González. |

Artist History
Sentir used to be a very popular band in Houston, Texas between the years of 1989 through 1997. They played in venues in and around Houston to packed crowds. The band was promoted by Carl Herrera, a professional basketball player that hails from Venezuela. The band's original name was Sentir Venezolano since all the original band members were Venezuelans. Eventually the band recorded a CD titled "From Houston To The World" and produced by Mr. Herrera. The band stopped playing mainly because of the busy schedules that different band members had on their regular day jobs. The band leaves a legacy behind of great friendships and a firm foundation for future Latin bands here in Houston. |
