Artist History
Rafael Pacha is using the language of celtic folk music to create a new soundscape, based on years of traditional playing, and merging with different music styles.Born in Cordoba, South Spain, in the year 1961. From the early years, he began to form Rock Bands and Folk Bands, influenced by groups like Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Jethro Tull, Genesis, etc...During his University years he formed a band of Celtic musicians, playing standards from the Irish, Breton, Galician, Scottish and Brittish folk, called "San Barandan", sponsored by the Music School of the University of Cordoba. In the late 80's he was in a duo called "Danae", turning from instrumentalist to composer, using the languages of European Folk. From '89 to '94 he was in a trio merging stiles like Pop, Folk and Rock, called "La Banda del Lago" that released an album called "Cuestión de Tiempo" and performed at gigs around Spain. Now, he works as a multi-instrumentalist on his home studio, but with good friends on collaborations. |
