Artist History HELLBASTARD emerged from the late 80s punk/metal crossover scene alongside NAPALM DEATH and EXTREME NOISE TERROR.Combining the ferocity of early SLAYER with the politics of the underground punk scene that inspired them Hellbastard were credited with creating the 'crust' and 'grind' genres.Once described in Kerrang magazine as "the poorest band on earth" they became a household name on the underground hardcore/metal scene before calling it quits in 1992.Scruff formed NERO CIRCUS while Scotty went on to form HELLKRUSHER who have themselves gained a reputation on the low budget worldwide political punk/crust scene. They have recently reformed and should be playing gigs soon.
