Artist description
Maraki Takehashi began his musical career in early 1983.
His work is a response to the underground bondage culture in Japan, as well as an extension of his roots in art theory and criticism. He specifically deals with the erotic subconscious, which tends to get him lumped together with other noise artists, such as Merzbow. His work is very versatile, however, and is noted for it's restraint.
Outside of his solo explorations, Maraki Takahashi has collaborated with some of the most prominent noise musicians working today. His live recored concert with Masami Akita, entitled "Vaginal Leper Cinema" was released as a special 3" cd through a subsidary of the famed Mego label. |
