Artist description
ZINC BOMB is an explosive band from Sacramento, CA that infuses crunching guitars and introspective and melodic vocals for a listener-friendly emo-grunge sound that is emotional, edgy and experimental without losing its pop sensibilities. The band's music is a caustic mix between the harmonic snarl of early Smashing Pumpkins and Radiohead mixed with a dose of Nirvana/Foo Fighters' post-punk accessibility and occasionally topped off with darker Tool-esque rhythmic noise. Guitarist Scott Vaughn provides the backbone of ZINC BOMB's musical attack, with a guitar sound that is aggressive and raw, yet truly emotive. Drummer Victor Balta is one of the hardest hitting drummers in Sacramento, earning him a listener-voted 98 ROCK Real Sac Music Award for 'Biggest Sticks'. On top of it all, vocalist/guitarist Ken Cuozzo lays down his smooth and snarling vocals. |

Artist History
ZINC BOMB rose from the ashes of the local Sacramento band PROON, the core of which has been playing the Sacto music scene since 1997, taking the stage regularly at many familiar local venues such as Old Ironsides, The Press Club, BoJangles, The Distillery and Hard Rock Café, as well as releasing a self-produced five-song demo EP "Foreword" in 1998. This experience has made ZINC BOMB an extremely tight and focused band musically, as well as a comfortable and interactive band onstage. Their energetic stage show only adds to the frenetic nature of their music. |

Press Reviews
Their music blends right into the modern rock canon but with twists in melody and Ken's strong and unique vocals ZINC BOMB stands apart (Para-Sight Records). ZINC BOMB is an eclectic mix of alternative rock with a touch of trendiness. With a good stage performance and interesting lyrics, they are definitely worth checking out at various local bars and clubs (98 ROCK). Good guys in the music scene, solid musicianship, from solid dark grinding rhythms to hooky melodies - these guys do it all. A live show not to miss (The Stack MP3 Radio). |
