Artist History Wendy was 15 when she started playing guitar. When she was 16 she wrote her 1st song. Wendy - "...That was also the years I started playing in a band Called Across Town.My dream has always been to be a songwriter more than an artist. For me thegreatest compliment I could be given is for someone else to like my songswell enough to want to sing them.I have been working for the Great Smoky Mountians Railway for 5 years,entertaining on the cars from the Natahala Gorge to Bryson City NC."In 1997 Wendy won the Nashville Star-Search with 2 songs she had written. 1st was''Where are you" and the second was "No I'm not lonely" ".....which the 2nd songhas been put out on a demo of a selection that was used to promote my musicto record companies, but not yet released on CD."In 1994 she won the Amature Country Music Songwriters Awardwith Appalachian Snow, also the title song from her last CD."...I am currently working on a new CD with lots of new stuff just written overthe past 2 years..... it should be ready to go out in August(2000).I love all kinds of music...Carly Simon and Dolly Parton were my femaleinspirations and Leon Russell and Justin Hayward were my 2 male influences.My most favorite country artists of today are Faith Hill and PattyLoveless......of course who wouldn't put Alan Jackson in thatcatagory....his music is usually fun and uplifting., but I like all kinds ofmusic...... I think Keb Mo is one of the busiest CD's in the CD player rightnow and 2nd to him is Toni Braxton.""I love these mountians and I love the people and music that comeswith them. I love God and all that He is.My favorite TV show are the X-files and comedy centrals The DailyShow with Jon Stewart....these are 2 shows I arrange my schedule to notmiss."
