DESMAN
King's Head, London
People are talking in excited terms about Desman right now and on this evidence it is easy to see why. Desman are a leaner, meaner, tougher Muse, they're an already rather confident hard-edged indie guitar experience with far more than just that one dimension that Placebo turned out to have - Desman could be the ones who take it all a litlle bit further, they just might, even on the evidence at this early, rtather frantic, raw show, be the ones who don't let you down. Bass player Tommy was last seen on the main stages of Reading and Leeds as part of Cay - apparently he didn't want to join full-time, claiming the new band he was in were too good to leave, and he was right. Don't wait for permission, Desman are right here, right now. Rocksound magazine 12/01
