His passion for playing was so tremendous that he played for hours a day for several years, learning favorite songs and writing his own. Chris has sung and played lead and rhythm guitar in various garage bands over the years, while accumulating his own original music along the way. Chris's primary influences include Neil Young, Joe Walsh, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Andrew Lloyd Webber/Tim Rice, Elton John, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Moody Blues, The Eagles, and The Kinks.To date, Chris has written and co-produced two CD's: Atlantis, A Rock Opera (1998), and 60 To 69, A Music Evolution (2000). Chris' interest in philosophy and the occult led him to a fascination with the legend of Atlantis. In 1994 it dawned on him to write a rock opera on this theme. He then began to organize his existing original music and proceeded to write and record new songs consistent with the Atlantis theme. When his engineering career led him to Florida in 1997, Chris decided to locate a recording studio to start professionally recording his music. In January 1998 he teamed up with guitarist Chris Hattingh and the two artists then began co-producing the project, completing it mid-March."Atlantis: A Rock Opera" takes you on a mystical journey from the rise of the Atlantean culture through its downfall, and finally, to the great deluge. Chris drew the music for Atlantis from an archive of over 20 years of accumulated song writing. The diversity of the style of its music represents a unique blend of a classic rock style with an alternative sound truly unlike any other production today.During the writing and producing of Atlantis, Chris was also developing his concept for the 60 To 69 project. From the time he was born in 1960, he was inundated by an awesome mass of incredible music that was produced throughout the decade of the 60's , and this during the most impressionable years of his life. Since that time, he has had a total fascination for this phenomenon, as well as an intrigue for the unique manner by which it developed and evolved through the decade. In early 1999, Chris began writing songs with the intent of fitting into his theme, where year by year from 1960 to 1969, each song would create the same atmosphere that the music did at the time. Chris also conducted some historical research of each of the years of the decade in order to generate material from which he could develop the lyrics for his 60's songs. Chris then returned to TGIF Studios in the fall of 1999 to produce this exciting concept. Teaming up once again with Chris Hattingh, Chris embarked on the production of 60 To 69. Chris's determination to perfect this endeavor led the project into 2000, when it was finally released in August. The two artists agree that the effort was well worth it, and they are quite pleased with the highly polished and virtually flawless outcome of this production.Chris currently resides in the Tampa Bay area of Florida, where he continues to embark on his engineering career, as well as his lucrative real estate investment business.

Press Reviews OB Zine Chris Di Salvatore - 60 to 69: a music evolution This one comes from the states, Chris is an accomplished musician and has put together a CD encompassing the era of the sixties. What an insane idea for a CD, it's great. First thing I'll mention is the cover, half a refined early sixties guy with thick glasses, half a hippy with long hair (looks like me!). There's no doubt that the era of 60 to 69 was the centre of all sorts of social and political changes, not to mention the music evolution which probably arose from all that went down. Chris has put together ten tracks, named '60', '61' ... up to '69',you get the idea. In each track you get a bit of lyric on what was going on in that time frame. There's a tribute to Lennon and one for Martin Luther King & Robert Kennedy. He's also caught a snapshot of guitar tones and riffs from each year. It really takes you there, you get a bit of surf music, some protest numbers, a touch of blues, and the later tracks bring in some more psychodelic guitar and vocal effects, plus some other messing around. This disc would have taken an immense amount of effort, but the final product is the next best thing to living through the sixties! Chris, I commend you, well worth a listen.
