Artist description The Briarcrest Christian School Concert Choir is an auditioned choir of ninth through twelfth graders. The choir rehearses each day and performs a variety of literature from the Renaissance period through this century. Choir members receive one Fine Arts credit each school year.The 44-voice choir performs at schools, churches, and festivals. Recently the choir performed in Washington, D.C., New York City, and Colorado Springs. The choir is a member of the West Tennessee Vocal Music Educators Association.The Madrigals Singers is an auxillary group of the Concert Choir. Entrance to the Madrigals is by audition only. The 1999-2000 edition of the Briarcrest Madrigal Singers has 25 members, many of whom are first-time members. The ensemble rehearses twice a week before school and during the school activity period. The Madrigals perform at their annual Madrigal Dinner, other Christmas social events, schools, and festivals. The group tours with the Concert Choir each spring.The Madrigal Singers traditionally perform sacred and secular literature from the Medieval and Renaissance periods (800-1600). The madrigals and motets are performed a capella (without accompaniment) and in period costume.

Artist History For over twenty five years, the award winning Briarcrest Christian School Concert Choir has lead the Mid-South as the premire high school choir.All-Southwest Honors ChoirThe All-Southwest Honors Choir is an auditioned choir consisting of ninth through twelfth graders from southwest Tennessee. Each member must be a choir member from a West Tennessee Vocal Music Educators Association choir. The All-Southwest Honors Choir has two hundred singers. Each fall, judges select the members from auditions of over 700 singers. Selection as a member of this choir is a distinct honor and privilege.In 2000, sixteen members of the Briarcrest Christian School performed in the honor choir.
