Artist description
Alan Semerdjian, Surreal's singer and lyricist, has the remarkable ability
to integrate post modern poetry with boundless imagery to create concepts and
themes that somehow make sense. Couple that with music that is danceable, singa
ble and earthy all at the same time, and then you begin to understand Surreal.
While Surreal has been compared favorably to the likes of Dave Matthews Band,
The Cure, Phish, and U2, they create hybrid songs that blend trippy
alterna-pop with frenzied mini-jams, creating a whirlwind of originality. |

Artist History
The band Surreal formed out of the high school friendships
of Tom, Ian, and Alan and later Dan (Tom's younger
brother) was dragged into the mix before he even
knew how to play the bass and the rest of them
weren't any better. But after 7 or 8 years of
practice and hundreds of gigs we now know Surreal
to be one of the best independent bands around!
Over the years, Surreal songs have appeared on network television. Th
e Warner Brothers Network sitcom Nick Freno:Licensed Teacher featured Surreal
s music in two episodes and their song Bayside, America was used as theme mus
ic for Pandora on Lifetime Cable.
Surreal has been touring the Northeast consistently and they have had great
success with college crowds. |
