Artist History
SLEESTACK is a group of friends. With a heavy, melodic, groove-oriented sound that meets ambient experimentalism, the group showcases high-dynamics, diverse musical tendencies, and a taste of their multi-cultural backgrounds.
SLEESTACK has recorded two albums with producer Andrew “MUDROCK” Murdock (Godsmack, Powerman 5000) and is currently shopping material to EMI, Epic, Roadrunner and Virgin.
SLEESTACK’S ACHIEVEMENTS:
• NeMO 99 Showcase and Music Conference. April 24, 1999, at the Linwood, Boston. A prime slot performance being regarded as one of this annual event’s best ever.
• Only opening act for legends Run DMC, at The Alternate Route, Weymouth, MA, on December 18th, 1997.
• Headlining most venues in the Boston music scene such as The Middle East Café, Bill’s Bar, (the Aerosmith owned club formerly known as) Mama Kin, The Linwood, The Boston Hatchshell and Axis, among others.
• The band’s web page on www.mp3.com/sleestack has received an average of 12 hits a day. The song “23” (from the new EP Strange Resonance) available on the site has been previewed/downloaded 60 times in its first 30-day period.
• The official web site, www.sleestack.net is currently being updated due to new audience demands. The site will soon have the band’s entire catalog available for previews and downloads, along with new reviews and accounts of the latest shows.

Press Reviews
SOUND CHECK MAGAZINE (MA) - May ‘99
"Let me tell you, this band is tight! Propelled by a very interesting, kick-ass rhythm section, Sleestack's sound has Dream Theaterish instrumental concepts with Rage Against the Machine attitude."
/NORTHEAST PERFORMER - June '97
“All four members are capable musicians to say the least, delivering a tight product of fine craftsmanship.”
/THE NOISE MAGAZINE (MA) - July ‘97
“Rampaging bursts of electric guitar mayhem, fat and fuzzy bass slapping, and pernicious percussion... they sound like The Real Thing-era Faith No More, or perhaps a more brash and ballsy version of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. They also put on one hellavu live show.”
/SOUND CHECK MAGAZINE (MA) - June/July '97
“Man, that's some raw power. Thick riffs and licks known only to the archangels of crunch.”
/THE METRONOME (MA) - April '97
“It's funky, metallic and power pop all in the bang of a note with vocals that sound like they came straight out of an action cartoon. This isn't your typical Boston garage group, oh no. Sleestack will turn you on your heels and set the demons loose. You'll be begging for forgiveness while they put you over their proverbial musical knee and spank you senseless. This is what The Red Hot Chili Peppers should sound like. There's nothing mild mannered about this quartet of blazing cacophony. A brawl so intense, they're going to need three ambulances to take what's left of you to the emergency room. I'm scared.”
/BITE ME MAGAZINE (CA) - March '97
“The combination of these 4 talented musicians blends up a total vibe of originality. Quality musicianship is evident here, Sleestack have lots of potential. I'd love to see this band live.”
/MAMA KIN’S "NEXT OF KIN" (MA) - February '97
“Powerful vocals, heavy grooves, funky bass lines... join them as they... cause general mayhem throughout the club!”
/NORTHEAST PERFORMER - November '96
“Hard-edged funk style made so popular in recent years by the likes of Faith No More and Trapped Instinct.
