Artist History
My name is Paul Gude. This is a collection of "music" that I created during the mid to late ninties. SGNP stands for "Some Guy Named Paul." When I was a production assistant at KCOU in Columbia, Missouri, I would often make noise loops (the big reel-to-reel kind) and leave my "performances" on the 8-track-like carts we would use for Public Service Announcements and local band recordings. Eventually, one of my recordings was mistaken for a local band. The DJ on duty played it. When he asked around to see who the band was, the only answer he could get was "Some guy named Paul." People started requesting it, and the name stuck.I make this music for my friends, and MP3.com is a convenient way for them to find it. Thanks to everyone else who listens, and thanks for writing me. |

Press Reviews
SGNP play abrasive industrial assaults a la Ministry, quirky Dust Brothers-inspired Lo-Fi hip-hop, and tongue in cheek Indie pop with lyrics about “pooping your pants.” Imagine Wesley Willis, Beck, and Alain Jourgensen making a record together. –Listen.com |
