Artist description
When you decide to start a band or picture or creative venture in
any of the fine medias available, I find it best to not fully think it all
the way through before starting. Best results are reached when you throw some people in
a room and see what comes out of those people. When SCLIX
started I think we really wanted to fill a new wave hole in rock music...but
it just didn't happen. That isn't what came out. Some of us have always been in Punk Rock bands,
others have been in what you might call "Indie" rock bands - both of us were sick to death
of the genres we had aligned ourselves with and decided to just hang out, drink, and not really
throw out ANY ideas brought to the table. With a Bontempi Organ leading the way, SCLIX writes music
that literally and proudly leaves convention outside like an unruly pet. The results are something I can't really
explain here..but isn't that kind of the point of you being able to actually download our songs? |

Press Reviews
Sclix are from Greensboro, and they're ex-Eagle Bravo and Rebar
folks. They're not really slow, and they're not punkrock, either.
They're more like a weird herky-jerky punk/new/wave thing with
shrill keyboards and I can't remember what the hell they sing about,
but I remember seeing them 6 months ago and being more impressed
by them than I've been by any other band singer Scott Hicks has ever
been in, and he's been in more than a couple. |
