Artist description
From a new fan, "The first words that come to mind are WOW, incredibly, totally awesome. I need a thesaurus for superlatives! John (husband) and I listened to it last night and we were both spellbound. We both read the insert and were further amazed, I can't believe you compose, perform, play numerous instruments, do the art work (I was VERY impressed by that) and produced this. It is truly a work of art. Ten years of piano lessons left him exhausted and me frustrated, but keyboard music of any genre has been my favorite since I was 5. Maybe if I had known about Galileo's father I would not have felt so inadequate! Despite my best efforts, I know very little about music, but I do! know what makes me stop and listen and this definitely did. It made me feel good, it made me smile, it was relaxing and exciting at once and I am so very grateful that you shared it with me." Daryl Anne (listener) |

Press Reviews
"CALLISTO" spans an intelligently freewheeling grab bag of styles, from classical chamber music and combo jazz to ragas black gospel, and music that showcases Taylor's penchant for writing strong cinematic themes. Dallas Public radio station KERA has already added four songs to its playlist.'Rick Clark, BILLBOARD Magazine (US)"Unfettered by record company restriction, one gets the feeling that Sam was able to experiment with music that comes from deep within. His excursions on acoustic guitar and piano reveal his artistry. He is a true artist, with a unique voice and a lot to say. "Blaine Fallis, About.com (jazz.guide@about.com) "The intimate, small ensemble format provides a vehicle for Taylor's flighty excursion into jazz, gospel, folk, ragtime and classical, but it doesn't betray his sturdy compositions or the trio's precise, understated playing.
