    Artist History
Welcome to the world of MEAN FREE PATH. M.F.P. is a four-piece rock band currently based in Victoria, BC, Canada. With a wide variety of musical influences, it’s members, Kevin Wright (vocalz), Mike Sudar (guitarz), Jack Donaldson (bass) and Ed Davis (drumz), have acquired a unique, heavy edged sound, that blends old school metal with a taste of contemporary rock vibes, and is sure to give rock music listeners something completely fresh to appease their musical addictions. The band itself is fairly new but the members have a long history of working together over the past 15 years. Kevin Wright and Mike Sudar started out together in 1986 playing in a popular local metal band called Armoros, who enjoyed great local success and found itself featured in many worldwide metal magazines with rave reviews. In 1987, Kevin left Armoros and Mike and the rest of the band continued on for the next 8 years to become one of the Pacific Northwest’s hottest metal acts. In 1990, Kevin moved to Toronto and spent the next few years performing as a vocalist on the bar circuit in the Windsor area. In 1995, after moving back to the West Coast, Kevin was once again searching for a good band to front. He answered an ad in a local paper and wound up showing up at the studio of Jack Donaldson. Jack, a seasoned road dog from Ottawa, Ontario, had played in bands across the country at some of Canada’s “loveliest” venues. Kevin, also a sax player, and Jack an avid banjo and harmonica man have been working in the studio and on stage together for the past 6 years during which they’ve written and recorded many different styles of music from metal to new age. In 1995, after Armoros had expired, Mike was hired on as second guitarist with Vancouver based recording artist, Strapping Young Lad and spent some time doing a video and photo shoots for their debut album. Eventually, Mike departed due to musical & personal differences, and made his way back to Victoria to put together a new band. It was then that Ed Davis came highly recommended to take on the drum duties for Mike’s new project. Mike found the term MEAN FREE PATH in a physics book and decided that it would be a great band name as it was open for individual interpretation. They went though a few small line-up changes over the next 2 years, but eventually broke up. Mike and Ed kept the name and continued to work on material together. In the spring of 2001, Kevin and Mike ran into each other at a local gym. They began to talk about musical endeavours on a regular basis and came to the conclusion that they should start jamming together. Everything was perfect, Mike had a drummer, and Kevin had a bassist with a recording/rehearsal studio. The four got together and the rest is history. After spending quite some time trying to come up with a name for the band, they decided to re-introduce the name MEAN FREE PATH and now the band is moving ahead full force. MFP is now working on their first CD project together and they look forward to creating and pursuing many opportunities within the music industry. With a new line-up, a new sound and the ever-present hunger to create infectious riffs, dynamic vocal melodies and hard hitting backbone rhythms, MFP hope to invade the ears of listeners around the world real soon.
