Artist History
1996: Sheldon is living in Austin, Texas. Walking alone downtown one evening he is threatened by a gang of obnoxious college boys. In a good mood, he insanely replies to their taunts in a silly creepy voice, and thus "Lucid Dementia" is born. A year later, (1997) with help from freinds Kitty Mao and Kali 666, the first full length album, "Twisted" is released. Soon after, "Twisted" the song, is signed on to appear on the COP International female compilation "Diva Ex Machina". This release led to much worldwide attention and radio play in the underground circles. After finishing the cd, Sheldon gathered together the band. Lucid Dementia enjoyed much success and gained opportunities to play with such bands as "Clan of Xymox", "Switchblade Symphony", "Kevorkian Death Cycle", "Razed In Black", "Terminal 46" and "Faith in Disease". In the summer of 2000, Lucid Dementia released a cd single entitled "Song For Newborn", which features a remix of our grand smash song: "Twisted", remixed by Eric Gustafson, formally of "Terminal 46". That summer they went on their first national tour. Since then, Lucid Dementia has been working hard in the studio, building new songs, amidst occasional requests to play live shows. In 2001, Lucid Dementia signed on with independant electronic distribution label: "Analog Aether". The "Twisted" CD is selling better now then it ever has, and the demand does not seem to be slowing. Once the new album is ready, Lucid Dementia plans on hitting the road again, and try to hit as many places in the US as we can. |
