LASZLO is built on the foundation of meaningful and memorable material. The treatment of the songs gives a tip of the hat to many pop icons past and present but the material timelessly stands on it's own. |

Artist History
Originally formed in 1998 by guitarist/songwriter Jerome Covington, the Texas based band LASZLO dissolved just a few years later when some of its members, including vocalist Norah Jones (Blue Note), relocated to New York City. After making the move himself in the summer of 2002, Covington connected with friend and vocalist Danielle Gasparro to form the "seductive" (Village Voice) Covington Gasparro Ensemble, which also included LASZLO drummer Bill Campbell.
Six moths later, the ensemble developed an interest in exploring their love of groove, and began revisiting the jazz and funk influenced music of LASZLO. Creative spirits united, and they soon decided to take their moody pop in a new direction, sealing the move by dropping their mouthful of a name and resurrecting LASZLO. In June of 2003 however, this incarnation too disbanded. Laszlo's original album with Norah Jones is still available for purchase through mp3.com.
