Press Reviews
I don't think Pat Fitzgibbons would be too offended if I said that I reviewed his work because it was so damn interesting. Would I say it's the most inspiring thing I've ever subjected my ears to? No. I think I am drawn to it because it reminds me of my past and melts into the popular industrial music of today. Think Motley Crue meets Stabbing Westward and then think of them mating and giving birth to that incredibly weird 90's band Nitro, and there you have Kippy Joe. Favorite tracks include the heavily industrial Hot 4 You, and more traditional and oooh...slightly poppy, Loser (He's a la la la la la loser!). Many instrumentals sprinkled through this release are a diverse change from the dance club tracks also mixed throughout. Kippy Joe is not a band, it's just Fitzgibbons and his computer and that in itself is impressive. While the drums sound a little drum machine-ish the guitar sounds pretty damn real to these untrained ears. I think it would be fair to call Y2Kippy Joe an experiment and if Fitzgibbons has just been dinking around in his basement making this CD, well, I'd say it was time well spent.
