Artist History
Kristian Sensini, born in Loreto in 1976.
He spends his childhood completely immersed in music thanks to his parents' passion and to the heritage of his grandfather, who was an accordionist.
He begins piano lessons with the maestra Matassini, then he continues as an autodidact.
At twelve he starts making his first experiments in electronic music and computer music, which will lead him to form several ensemble of modern music (i.e. DrinkwaterBand) with such points of reference as Stockhausen, Cage and Zappa.
He then studies composition with the maestro Rusticucci, with whom he is still collaborating in the field of musical education and pedagogy; besides, he studies flute with the maestri Andreani, Jousdottic, and Adami.
After getting the classic school-leaving certificate, he attends the DAMS (Department of Music and Performing Arts) in Bologna, and directs his studies towards musical education and anthropology.
In 1996, his passion for musicals leads him to become the musical director of a theatrical company and to establish a collaboration with some of the most important exponents of the italian musical comedy.
From 1998 he works at the Musical Liceo "Toscanini" of the 'International Music Institute', teaching flute, piano, musical theory and solfeggio; besides, he teaches musical education at the nursery and elementary school.
Among his personal researches there are studies in the so-called "descriptive" music of composers such as Carl Stalling and Scott Bradley, studies in medieval music, jazz and music for films.
He's now working as an arranger, composer and sound engineer in his own recording studios.
At present, moreover, he is collaborating with Carlo Gargioni (arranger and keyboard player for Fabio Concato and Ornella Vanoni, and now for Angelo Branduardi) as an author and arranger; he is also composing jingles for Mediaset, an italian TV society.
He wins a scholarship of $5000 awarded by the Berkelee College of Music (Boston) to the most praiseworthy students at the clinics held in Perugia (Umbria Jazz 2001), when he studies with Matt Marvuglio, Dave Clark, Jim Oldridge, Mark White and Jeff Stout.

Press Reviews
a really interesting solo work by Kristian Sensini, a keyboard player from the Marches.
"The demo contains forty minutes of fanciful sound wonders: it goes from medieval atmospheres and scores in eighties style to great experiments almost schizophrenic.
The last track, “Notte”, is very good as well, and it emphzises Kristian's ability with a singer (in this case Glauco Gardini)." FLASH about "No drug or nuclear weapons allowed inside"
"The twelve tracks show his excellent command of the instrument, both for the effects and for the arrangement choice...Kristian has got a good ability to create emotional environments, so he could be suited to compose soundtracks or at least music for images." Metal Shock
"The demo contains four tracks of different length: “The baby is scared”, which is the part more prog of the whole work; “Le revenant”, very jazzed and sung in French; “Favola”, which reminds the Fiaba for its lyric and vocalises, and Angelo Branduardi for its music; “Notte”, the last track, which is a semi-acoustic and atmospheric song, and has the piano in evidence.
after all it is a very good work, most of all because it was made with few means but with a lot of love." Arlequins Prog Fanzine
"His qualities as an instrumentalist are excellent, with influences by Jethro Tull, Yes, and classic italian prog." Metal Shock
"It starts with "Notte", an evocative and thoughtful track, which could be a hypothetical soundtrack for an improbable movie about medieval obscurantism; "The baby is scared" reminds the Goblin together with Emerson Lake & Palmer, with its keyboards; in "Le Revenant" the progressive arrangement is evidently linked with the Stranglers of "La folle" and the "Boure" by Johann Sebastian Bach, loved to tears by the freak in the version by the Jethro Tull.
The last track is "Favola", and here we understand that the composer has got a classic culture, and knows well the prog rock of the 70s; he's also influenced by the Banco del Mutuo Soccorso, Angelo Branduardi, and Fabrizio De Andr with Massimo Bubola." Music Club
"An Italian artist with many talents presenting his work through a four track demo CD. The guy is a composer, a keyboardist and a flautist and these two are the main instruments in the album. His music is electronic and atmospheric with influences from the progressive rock scene and medieval music among other things."
