Artist History
Collins Gate started as an experiment...wondering if
such diverse styles as each member had would somehow merge into a single voice.
It's been done before, but still seemed like a worthy
pursuit. After just a couple of months of messing around it
began to be evident that something was happening. People
would stop bandmembers who were listening to work
tapes and ask them about the music. The elusive "good
gigs" that they thought would be near impossible to
land at first came easily as soon as the venue owners
heard the first CD. Suddenly what started out as a
diversion, a way to kill some time on a Saturday was
much more than that, and everyone in the band could feel
it. With renewed energy and a desire to make a life out
of the music, C-Gate is now working on their second CD.
"Building a Bridge" and "Insomnia" have been in rotation
on both WVXU and WNKU since late February, and there have
been very favorable write-ups in the local press.
Take a listen, and let 'em know what you think!

VARIOUS ARTISTS
Localmusik.com Presents: Our Musik, Cinti, 1998
This CD provides an interesting sample of what is
going on here in our local music scene. Fifteen
different bands play on this compilation, ranging in
sound from rockabilly to Celtic and just about
anything else in between. Some of the features are the
rich and ethereal vocals on Collins Gate's
"Building a Bridge"...
