Artist History Arif (pronounced uh-reef), born in Canada, grew up in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. He started singing in the school chorus and playing classical piano at the age of eight. After six years he decided compassionate, fiery tones of guitar were a better way to express his exploding creativity. At age 17, the move to California is where he gained musical experience. In 1994, Arif released "Lost" an independent 10 song album where rock and world beat collide with a percussive bang. In 1997, Arif, with partners Tony Shibumi and DeHaven, formed the funk/pop group Olio. They released "ain't no party like an Olio party...LIVE" in 1999. 1999 also brings the release of Matthew Modine?s film ?If...Dog...Rabbit? in which Arif recorded two original instrumental compositions and performed a portion of the score. This film will be screened in festivals all around the world. Joan Pappe?s documentary, ?The Road to Tralee?, includes Arif?s guitar work throughout the film score. Arif can be seen playing guitar in Enrique Iglesias' music video "Enamorado Por Primera Vez".
