    Artist History
Just 30 minutes North of San Francisco, in a small quiet town called Petaluma, the band named 26 Miles Per Hour was born. Formed in 1995, these kick-ass Bay Area slammers keep your stereo honest by pushing their sick-like tracks out at a much faster speed than their name, and at an even more devilish wattage. The band was founded by Eric Nettleton (vocals), and is completed by the basic holy rock unity of John "Von" Rosser slapping the hell out of his bass, Adam Nettleton with his huge yet melodic guitar riffs, and Tono Garcia Romero exerting poetic savagery on the drums. At first the band started playing live at the school and local coffee shops, Eric states, "The more people would complain about the noise and volume, the louder and heavier I wanted to play. I think this is one thing that really helped our sound today, because I would always try to push the limits that were given to us." The band name 26 Miles Per Hour was taken from a study found in a medical journal. Eric remembered making a wise crack about the speed 26 Miles Per Hour in reference to the medical journal. The band thought this was hilarious and decided to name themselves 26 Miles Per Hour. Eric says that, "The band's name actually has a dirty meaning to it, and we thought it'd be fun to play at schools and conservative coffee shops with them not knowing about it! The band planned on changing the name, but it stuck. Perhaps they should simply add on a few more zeros. 26 MPH's sound has evolved since their inception starting off as a combination of "punk" and "soft- core" music. The band has now developed into a music style with much harder and aggressive edges while still retaining the catchy sound of the old school ways. 26 MPH plays an average of 6-8 gigs a month in all age venues through out the northern California area and has plans to tour the southern California area in the near future. 26 MPH is currently drawing an average of 250-300 fans to their hometown venue "The Phoenix Theater." They have also played with these known artists: Sevendust, Kittie, Papa Roach, Oleander, Alien Ant Farm, Simon Says, Will Haven, Agent Orange, Salmon, and Link 80. With their subsonic bass tones, jagged guitar riffs, drumbeats that will drop you through the floor, and hard-hitting aggressive vocals, 26 MPH is not a band to be taken lightly. The band has currently released their first independent full-length CD "Apathy" which has already helped to create a buzz in the Nor Cal region and skyrocket the band to the top of the charts. Acquiring 28,656 page hits and 20,301 song downloads on mp3.com since the release of "Apathy" in May of 1999 is not too shabby for an unsigned artist! 26 Miles Per Hour has also gained lots of attention from the heavy music community on the web with already well over 20,000 hits to their web page 26mph.com. 26 MPH also plans to shop record labels with the release of their new demo CD "Walk Alone." So kids, shut your door, tell mamma to put in her earplugs, and sign up for a service plan for your stereo. Here comes 26 Miles Per Hour!

STOMPINGROUND.COM"What would you get if Slayer, Pantera and the Deftones were to meet in a dark alley? No, not a bloodfest streetfight but probably something that would sound like the Hard Hitting band "26 Miles Per Hour" as proven in their latest release "Apathy." "Apathy" is a brutal, high energy album that wears out the fittest of the fit, Believe it! Eric Nettleton (Lead Vocals/Guitar) , Chris Henderson (Bass) and Tono Garcia Romero (Drums) really know how to pump out the hard edge power grooves. It's hard to believe this band started out playing a combination of punk and soft core music back in 1995 when they formed with their original members. The current line-up has been playing together since 1998 and are very "Tight" for the short period they have been together. I can't wait until I see them in concert. I can only imagine what it would be like, do they carry you off on a stretcher when it's all over?" STOMPINGROUND.COM"You Guys Are A Fuckin Experience, I remember when I thought KoRn were hard shit, god was I wrong." THE LAIR.COM"I was actually introduced to these guys fairly recently, and I was immediately impressed with what I heard. I couldn't believe a 3-piece band could produce this sound. 26 Miles Per Hour is a crossover band, only they incorporate a LOT of punk and hardcore into their music. Some songs are pure hardcore, and it is VERY good. This band's sound seems really "different" to me, probably because there aren't a ton of crossover bands out there that also do much punk. This isn't meant to make you think there's no trace of hip-hop, because there is. There's rapping, screaming, singing.... everything. Emotional lyrics, too. I recommend you all go to their website (http://members.tripod.com/twentysixmph/ and download all the mp3s they have. If I hadn't heard all the songs, I'd have no idea this band is as diverse as they are; every song is different. Everybody should check this stuff out." thenoisebox.com "stormtrooping in for awesome hardcore pummeling. Their vocalist commands attention with his throaty yells while the bass thunders along with the pounding drums." SMOTHER.COM "26 MILES PER HOUR - APATHYtwentysixmilesperhour@yahoo.comI haven't been impressed with an unsigned band in a long time but 26MPHis a gem! The guys, Eric Nettleton-voice/guitar,Chris Henderson-bass andTono Garcia Romero-drums have this up front hard, aggressive edge to them. They have downbeat rhythm with crazy drumming and melodic/hard-edge vocalsthat go from a frenzy scream to a mellow comforting tone! All the tunes havethat 26MPH vibe, but the tunes all have a tinge of difference that doesn'tmake you bored by the middle of the CD. The band has been getting hit likecrazy on MP3.COM. So, if you have time-go, click, find and hear what I thinkhas to be another local band that won't be local for long!" EAST COAST ROMPER
