Artist description
David Rabinow is a multi-instrumentalist but primarily a guitar player. He plays virtually all the tracks on this site. Don Sanders sits in on Blues Harp on a number of tunes (check out Amarillo Shuffle). The backing tracks are mostly produced by multitracking and midi sequencing. Most of the solo tracks are recorded live and most often in one take. There are a few punch-ins but I try to avoid them. |

Artist History
I have been playing off and on for nearly thirty years. The last time I played live with other musicians was in 1980. In the early '80s I started doing multitracking on a 4 track Fostex machine. Strictly for my own entertainment. In the late '90s I started learning midi and digital multitracking - not quite there yet. The CD Live at the Holiday Inn (room 307) actually took place in a hotel room in California. I brought my Korg D8 hard disc recorder, my Fender and some effects and met with Don Sanders in my hotel room. Don and I are business associates that share a love of the blues. He is from Amarillo, TX - I am from Boston, MA. Anyhow we sat in room 307 with headphones listening to the backing tracks and Don Played his harp and I played my guitar. For the most part those songs were done live. I hope you enjoy the results and thanks for listening. - David Rabinow - Three years later we have just completed the reprise called "Back At The Holiday Inn" featuring Ray Davis on Vocals - recorded this time in room 1425 of the Residence Inn in Irving, TX. |
