Artist description
"Tepado was a group of intelligent individuals who wrote and played inspired alternative rock. With the bass-thumping splendor of Primus and the occassional flurried energy of punk bands like NoMeansNo, the songs addressed topics relevant to pop culture with a jaundice irreverance that never turned elitist. Fans and critics alike got the feeling that they were coming along for a ride, and were always part of the joke. With absurd subject matter such as the wonderous powers of a seemingly indestructable comb, and the delicate beauty of a bovine's underbelly, Tepado always kept its audience guessing at the intrinsic mystery that is human existence. I will never forget the rare occasions I got to see this band live, even though I was incredibly drunk for both times." -William Maier, Actor. |

Artist History
Tepado formed at a Nomeansno show in October of 1995 by B. Nelson Johnson and Sir Millard Mulch. The third-wheel called James Pitts soon joined, was kicked out 8 months later, and Harold joined. The band then abruptly broke up during their 30th show. The later tried to regroup as a Misfits cover band but that didn't work because no one in the band liked the Misfits. |

Press Reviews
"Another project involving a certain Milard, who I last heard in the completely insane Sir Millard Mulch. Four tracks of spastic, noisy ditties about croutons, telemarkets and people who wear wifebeaters. The edges are kind of rough in a polished, intentional way. Different and worth investigating." -Ian Koss, Ink19"Tepado! are obviously reaching for the baton from musical adventurists such as Frank Zappa and Primus -- keyword, "reaching." Musically, the trio cut through these songs like a lumberjack through cheesecake (that means it's ripping.) Lyrically, a plethora of humor-laced anecdotes are foisted upon the listener. Weird? That's relative. Quirkishly entertaining? You bet." -Jam Magazine |
