Artist History
Sterkvind is a Portuguese Black Metal band which started five years ago by the blaspheme hand of Ogham and Lord Morfolk. Nowadays the line-up still the same but the band's ideology and sound have changed a lot. In the beginning, due to the influence of bands such as Emperor, Abigor, Mayhem, Darkthrone, Ulver, Gehenna, Desaster, Marduk, Graveland, Limbolic Art, etc., the band played a grim but melodic kind of Black Metal (in the vein of "in the nightside eclipse") and the lyrics talked mainly about Satanism, witchery, woods, etc.. About two years ago both members decided that they should change the band's ideology in order to do something more authentical because imitating northern bands wasn't quite what they wanted to do. The ancient Iberian pre-christian past was always something that interested Lord Morfolk and Ogham, so they started to write about it, joining their wrath, blood and strength with other Peninsular warriors with the purpose of defending our ancestral Pagan identity and culture and destroy what is called christianity. With five years of existence the band couldn't find yet true Pagan warriors to join the horde and make a complete line-up. Consequently the band can't play live and it's very hard to rehearsal. Lord Morfolk plays guitar, bass and sings while Ogham also sings and plays drums (in the past he also played keyboard and, in a few songs, pipe and Portuguese traditional percussion instruments). |
