Artist History
Roger Hale and the Green Country Trio formed in 1998.They boast a somewhat unique instrumentation with a plectrum banjo, rhythm guitar, five-string Kay bass, and a clarinet. Even though they have only beenperforming together for about two years, their musicspans generations, blending various musical styles. Dixieland, Swing, Blues, Folk, sing-along,and old time favorites into a refreshing new soundwhich lends itself well to public performances and audience participation. The group has performed for parties, reunions, anniversaries, retirements, and restaurants all around the Tulsa area. They made their firstappearance at the Guthrie Jazz and Banjo Festivalin 1999 and plan on making this festival an annualevent. After last years appearance, it became quiteevident that there was a broad appeal for theirstyle of music, and this recording is a naturalresult of the many requests, the group received for tapes or CD's. |
