Artist History
Together with her husband in 1986, Lara created music with keyboards, acoustic guitars and electric guitar. She spent time learning about synthesizers and the world of electronics, midi, recording and performance sound. Greg's uncle, Roger Noble was the inventor of The Lyricon, an analog wind synthesizer. Some musicians like Tom Scott, John Lennon and The Grateful Dead used the instrument in concerts and recordings. Greg began making music with The Lyricon as an accompaniment to the songs that were being written by Lara in the late 80's. It became a whole and unique part to their music that has stayed a key element to their performances. In December of 1997, their first and self produced album was released entitled, "Where Does The Truth Go?". This project's vision was to represent what they do live and to offer a recording of some of the ten years of work. Many different audiences have appreciated these concerts for benefits, coffeehouses, colleges and festivals. They have also appeared on Vermont Public Access video presentations and live radio. In 1998, "We all Belong Here" (the last song on the cd) was included on a compilation CD to benefit the Burlington Women's Rape and Crisis Center put out by Big Heavy World Records entitled, "No Secrets" |

Press Reviews
From Seven Days, a Burlington, VT cultural newspaperThese dozen songs showcase the vocal talents of singer-songwriter Lara Noble and the instrumentalones of her husband Greg. It's a good thing they found each other, is all I gotta say. Lara's strong soprano -- somewhere between Joni Mitchell and Dar Williams -- is perfectly embraced by the electric guitar and lyricon actionfrom Greg. Actually, Lara plays acoustic guitar and keyboards herself, so I suppose she could do without help, but never mind. The two of them have issued a gentle, beautiful recording -- elegantly produced by Roger Stauss at Noteworthy Studios -- that's p.c. without the self-righteousness. Mostly slow- to medium-tempo contemporary folk, "Where Does the Truth Go?" is like a hot soak in a purfumed tub -- a sweetly satisfying and soothing listen..." by Pamala Polston 12/22/98 |
