Review by Reverend Munk-www.munk.org
Of course, an Event isn't an Event unless all the elements come together and peak at the same time, elements like the opening band Autopsy Report, who played an incredible thickly textured post-apocalyptic set of nearly formless sonic landscapes that left the audience a bit dazed and quiet.. almost hypnotized. Personally, the Reverend digs this sort of music quite a lot - In the vein of bands like seefeel and Bad Sector, or composers like Steve Reich, this music invokes a dreamstate or a trance in the listener, taking the audience into a weird postnuclear opera where murdered cities bleed orange acid onto melted sand, and twisted animals crawl painfully from one place to another without ever knowing why. When Autopsy Report finished thier set, there was scattered applause, but mostly the crowd looked like they'd just been kicked in the nuts. I'd say it worked out pretty well, and I enjoyed it a lot.
