Artist description
Marcy Rae has a dual personality: she is Sweet Mama Cotton, Texas blues singer; but she is also an Equal Opportunity Offender, as noted in her recently release comedy music cd, "Marcy Rae: Live at the Hollywood!" "New Texas blues with respect for tradition" is her motto as leader of the highly acclaimed Houston blues band, Sweet Mama Cotton and the Sugar Daddies. They just placed third in the finals of the Texas Regional Blues Competition, topped by an Austin band and a band from Dallas. Marcy and company were the only Houston band to finish in the top places. Original and cover blues, featuring Marcy Rae on keyboards and vocals, are the offerings of the band's first cd, "Expect Delays". Feed your soul with either the affirming blues or the biting comedy of Marcy Rae/Sweet Mama Cotton. |
