Artist History
Infernal Legion formed under the name 'Eviscerate' in the cold month of January 1999 when Josh Smith, Justin Thomas and Eric Armstrong decided that they were ready to unleash unholy blasphemy on the cold northern town of Lakewood, Washington.
After about a month, Eviscerate called on John Anderson to play guitar in the group, and he did. Eviscerate wrote a couple songs, but wasn't going very quickly until they obtained the likes of Doug Stern as another guitarist later that year. Also late in 1999, Eviscerate made an unholy mistake of going on without Josh Smith as a vocalist, but that mistake was fixed later on.
In February of 2000, Eviscerate did record the first album titled 'Eviscerate' with Jesse O'Donnell. The tape sounded great and many cassettes were made, some of which we still have in boxes. In April of 2000 Eviscerate played their first show, and it was unholy and sounded lack luster. Suprisingly, John Anderson left Eviscerate immediately following the show and only one member of Eviscerate has seen him since.
The following shows, and there were many, subsequently ruled. Unbeknownst to most, while Eviscerate was playing shows and being unholy, they were also laying the foundations for the next album. And the foundations were thick, and they were indeed laid. Late in 2000, Eviscerate decided to change their name to Infernal Legion, in order to be different from other bands with similar names. Most people don't know that the name Infernal Legion actually was a name of a group that disbanded prior to Eviscerate's forming. One of the members of that group was Doug Stern, who carried the name over.
Also, late in 2000, Infernal Legion called upon Kris Hedge to play bass, but that did not work out. Later on, Infernal Legion re-obtained Josh Smith for vocals and Andrew Sison to play bass guitar, both of which have worked out splendidly in their plans.
In July of 2001, Infernal Legion was ready to record another album, this one being twice as long & much harder, the foundations were indeed laid well. Angelicide was recorded and was finished in the cold month of December 2001. The year of 2002 will bring surely more evil cold-hearted blasphemy to the greater Seattle-Tacoma area.
