    Artist History
In the Grey formed in late 1996, from the fragments of several area bands. "Chris and I had been playing together for quite some while," says Bret Biel. "Erik and Jim had also been playing together for awhile and Jon was in another band. We were all from the same area and knew each other, so when all three bands broke up we got together and started playing."Currently, In the Grey is working on their second full-length album and plans to release it in the fall. They are playing regularly in the Philadelphia area and have recently opened for Dreamworks artist?s Buck Cherry, RCA?s SR-71, and Lookout Record?s the Groovy Ghoulies. They are also receiving regular airplay in the Philadelphia market and on a few internet radio stations. In the Grey has built a firm following in their area and plan to extend this fanbase to a national level.

    Press Reviews
"Melodic acoustics mix with semi-dirty electric guitars and emotional lyrics to create a cool mood. Then there?s an upright-sounding fretless bass thing happening to turn the band?s whole presence on its ear. The overall effect is quite pleasant." -Alan Pinkerton, Rockpile Magazine"?there?s the fans, who, judging from the hearty cheers in the audience, are happy to gobble up family-sized portions." -Hobart Rowland, Philadelphia Weekly"?they are just so good that they whip the crowd up into a frenzy and it just becomes an incredible scene. So if you get the chance to check them out, definitely go see them, it?s well worth your money."-89?7 FM WGLS, Rowan University"?they are the best thing to come out of Philly since the Declaration of Independence."-Kelly O?Callaghan, 89.7 FM WGLS
