In a town where indie-rock reigns, Grindstone is gaining a faithful following of fans with their signature sound of intense, riff-driven rhythms and catchy melodies. Press Reviews
“Commercial potential and then some.”John Chandler- The Rocket Magazine“Lamar Stilwell’s muscular riffing no-nonsense vocal style lead the way for the heavy rock attack of Grindstone’s new release, ‘Nowhere Under.’”The Oregonian“Portland’s certainly not lacking in bantamweight pop-rock palookas. But when it comes to pro-styley, heavy-rock rasslers, Grindstone is one of only a few top contenders. John Graham- Willamette Week“I used to say that Grindstone is a great band for their genre. After seeing these guys in Austin, I now say Grindstone is a great rock band. This band plays songs ready for the airwaves. Even their visuals are ready for MTV.”Stephanie Salvey- Two Louies Magazine“The disc is nothing less of awe-inspiring. GRiNDSToNE have to be one of the most talented young bands on the scene, yet for some reason unbeknownst to me continue to go unnoticed. Nowhere Under is a must have for every music listener’s CD catalogue. I cannot fully describe how amazing this band is, trust me on this, buy the disc and you will see.”Jay- Planet-Noise.com“Powerful lyrics with controlled dynamic shifts makes this some good and heavy music. This band has a ton of potential.”BandRadio.com“And with that album under their belts and a growing fan base earned the hard way - hand-billing, postering the town, advertisements in local rags, and show after show – the band is able to give their audience a piece of work that proves they have indeed grown over the past years. That album is the self-released NOWHERE UNDER.”Alex Steininger- N.A.I.L. Distribution/ InMusicWeTrust.com“They seem like the genuine article, instead of another plate of hand-me-down ham.”Sean Lynch- The Rocket Magazine“GRINDSTONE is refreshing. It’s nice to see a rock show that is so positive. GRINDSTONE is contagious energy.”Kim Maxwell- KUFO“They’ve been blowing away unsuspecting music lovers right and left, selling out venues.” Renee Menius- The Source“GRINDSTONE is foremost in the Portland rock scene. Their talent, showmanship and composition are in my mind second to none of any national act. They are excellent representatives of what Portland has to offer the national music scene.”Pat “McBastard” Patterson- KXYQ“Grindstone debuts new album before 1,000 happy fans at Portland’s Roseland Theatre. The theatre was filled with this great energy from all the excitement. It was phenomenal. The best show I have ever been to.”Erica Landon- CCN |
