Artist description
I made my first CD titled 'Xtreme Synthesis' when I was nearly 14. I created this album on my
own, using my Korg X5D synthesiser, the Yamaha SW60XG, and with the aid of my home PC. Some of
these tracks are featured on my MP3.com page. (Buy it from my webpage at
http://www.i-quanta.com). Since producing my first album I have progressed fast and worked hard
on new material, developing my own style even further, and currently I am mostly producing trance
and goa. I have expanded my studio and bought new equipment which helps me to produce better and
more professional tracks.

Artist History
I have been making music & composing since I was quite small, but only since having my synth starting creating complete tracks, when I was just 13. I have studied classical instruments when I was younger (piano and violin), but once discovering the versatility of electronic music have concentrated enthusiastically on it and changed direction. It just went on from there and I decided when I was 11 that I was going to make a CD. Of course nobody took me serious at the time, but I can say I have proved a few people wrong! |

Press Reviews
For more reviews also check out: http://www.i-quanta.com/reviews.html. ----- THEGLOBALMUSE.COM: --- * * * * * (5 stars) ..."You would expect that a kid who is only 14 would create an album of music that is little more than the quality of a hobbyist. Well, not this 14 year old. Alex Swan has created some of the most inspirational and highly professional sounding electronic music that I've heard to date. In fact, I would consider him to be in the top five of electronica artists that I've reviewed. The music creates imaginative imagery while the songs leave you in awe from their complexity. The synthesizer remains the main instrument in mixes, giving Alex Swan more credibility as a musician, rather than simply a programmer. The music could still use a little more progression and imagination, but is still very impressive. His ear for music is also quite impressive, which makes me wonder what this kid is going to accomplish as he grows and progresses. I can't help but think that we are looking at a future genius in electronic music. The again, Alex may take us above and beyond that. Who knows what is in store for this kid. His future looks bright indeed." - (Michael Allison) .......--- ----- "UNCUT: --- (UK) (Sept '01) * * * * (4 stars) ..."14 year old musical prodigy home records astonishing debut album of electronic instrumentals... Having studied piano and violin since an early age, christmas 1999 saw Alex abandon classical instruments in favour of his brand new X5D Korg synthesiser. That was at the age of 13; within a year he had already completed his debut album! Always a keen composer (everything on these 11 assured tracks is created from scratch, with no pre constructed loops), this album boasts a musical maturity far beyond his meagre age. With such a profound grasp of rhythm and melody, who knows what this guy will be capable of in a few years? Aphex-a-like greatness surely beckons.." - (Paul Johnson) ---- |
