Artist description
Proggressive rock with tribal beats and chants. As much a philosophy as it is a sound, Tribe Sapien is an introduction to 'tribal rock'; progressive rock/rap with tribal beats and chants. Try to imagine a fusion of rich melodic textures flowing with the hard-hitting energy of a waterfall, or the tremendous yet moody sound of bonfire-dance war cry... That's Tribe Sapien! The band has evolved into a tight unit since the creation in 1997, and has dove head first into the pool of it's creative potential. What remains to be realized is in the hard work that lies in the beckoning path ahead. The possibilities are endless... The journey is well under way... Realize the Tribe... |

Artist History
In 1997, Rene Borje, Tom Oz, and Erik Sochin went for a three day vision quest in the mountains inland from Point Conception, California. In the fossilized remains of an ancient ocean bed, three musicians had an epiphany that would lead to the awareness of homo sapiens' unique tribal dynamic (past, present and future). The challenge then was to communicate these ideas musically through a 'Rock music' platform (guitar, drums, bass). After a year of playing local LA and Long Beach clubs, the band recruited Cesar Aberin to add the elements of percussion and urban jungle raps. The final piece came a year later with the addition of a melodic vocal sound provided by Brett Seralbo. This completed the vision and provided the reality necessary to move forward with Tribe Sapien. |
