Artist description
The Payday Loners are a group of back-woods mean-to-but-ne'er-do-wells from the Ozark Mountains, with nothing to do during the winter but chop wood and day trade. They wrote "Dot Com Kind of Christmas" after the Spring thaw and tech stock slide, in hopes of subsidizing their livestock farming and other activities, including the operation of the Ozark Day Trading Company. The band consists of Lester, Jim Bob, Curtis, and Lyle Woodhead. Grampa joins in with the pedal steel guitar when his health allows. |

Press Reviews
It took us a long time before we could get a gig, and here is our big break! We played in just 'bout every juke joint and dive that would serve us free alcohol, peanuts and 'tater chips. Grampa wouldn't quit complainin' bout the barflies hangin' all over him, and the smell of cee-gar smoke when he'd be tryin' to play pool. He sure made a good roadie, though! Lester kept gettin' all teary eyed when we'd play the Confederate Anthem, but he played like a real trooper. Jim Bob wouldn't stop chewin' and spittin' into the crowd-- I guess his only understandin' of a laptop is slurpin' beer from the bar counter. Curtis sure was diplomatic, keepin' Lyle from gettin' into fist fights with the bouncers. All told, we cleaned up pretty well for our press picture, and we're proud to give you our insight into the high flyin' world of tradin' stocks. We don't have hardly anything to do in the winter, except chop wood and day trade. We did find the time to write our new hit "Dot Com Kind of Christmas." This picture was taken on the road back home to Hoos Hollow, Arkansas, just south of the Tecumseh bridge near White Water. (Actually, we live under the bridge now.) See us cashin' our Royalty checks? VOID-- that's short for "Very Optimistic Internet Daytraders." We're proud to be THE PAYDAY LONERS. Cletus Woodhead, Chief Roadie (I'm not in the picture) |
