Artist description
The Original Joint Chiefs, '92-'99, Morgantown, WV. Like something from the Mothers of Invention's "Absolutely Free" album meets an "Aquaboogied" Grateful Dead...outrageous, silly shows...themes...plus this "rootsy appalachian-deadhead-boys meet the alien-Detroit-funk-street-hustlers" thing goin' on...picture Bootsy Collins jammin' with Angus Young, Liberace, and Charles Manson...or maybe you can describe it better... |

Artist History
Started in maybe '92 from the remains of "Jolly Gargoyle", which was mostly classic psychedelic covers a la the Dead, Neil Young, Country Joe, Jefferson Airplane, etc....went in the funk/hiphop direction and added a country twang...most prolific year was '95...recently (2002) original member Chris Ramey has been playing shows with the Chiefs again, after a six-year absence. |
